Yorkshire Housing

Yorkshire Housing is a registered social landlord providing more than 16,000 affordable homes throughout Yorkshire. Yorkshire Housing has a £70m turnover and is a charitable business employing over 750 people.

Challenge

Yorkshire Housing was moving head office and needed help to specify and procure a new data centre, wide area network, local area network, wireless infrastructure, telephony system and contact centre.

Solution

Shaw specified the requirements for all the above in a detailed specification that was split into three lots…

  • LOT 1 - telephony, contact centre and LAN
  • LOT 2 - data centre
  • LOT 3 - WAN

Shaw managed the procurement from start to finish, providing a bid assessment methodology and developing the assessment spreadsheets. We assisted with the supplier presentations, challenged and provided technical validation throughout the tender process and financially evaluated the bids.

A report was then produced that detailed the process followed, the analysis performed, and provided a recommendation on which supplier solution best met the needs of Yorkshire Housing.

Results

The solutions and suppliers selected through the procurement process helped Yorkshire Housing move into their new head office on time and are now delivering savings to the business.
